About me

My name is Camille de Harlez de Deulin. I was born in Belgium, although I have spent most of my life in the Czech Republic. I owe my name to my family's aristocratic roots, and I believe they have also shaped the way I perceive aesthetics, fashion and personal style.
I am often told that my style has a French charm. I cannot — and do not really want to — place it in one specific category. I draw inspiration across cultures, styles and eras. Modern elements can feel just as natural to me alongside vintage pieces, and my combinations are created primarily intuitively, according to what best expresses who I am at that moment.
By Cam Chic originally grew out of my love of jewellery. Jewellery has always been one of my strongest styling tools — a detail capable of transforming even a very simple outfit and giving it personality. Over time I realised that my real creativity does not lie in simply selecting beautiful things. What I love most is creating the whole picture — finding connections, combining seemingly unrelated elements and turning them into a whole that makes sense for the person wearing it.
Perhaps that is also why I have moved through many different ways of dressing at different stages of my life. My wardrobe evolved with me and allowed me to explore very different aesthetic worlds. Today, virtually no style feels foreign to me, and I have no need to steer a client towards my own.
So I do not begin our collaboration with the question “What do I think would suit you?”, but rather “Who are you, and what do you want your clothes to express?” I am interested in your taste, natural preferences, lifestyle and how you want to feel in what you wear.
I do not want your wardrobe to resemble me or anyone else when our work is finished. I want it to feel authentically yours.
But I would still love to leave you with something of mine — a little touch of Cami. Not my style, but a way of working with clothes: styling principles, new possibilities for combining pieces and know-how you can continue using long after we say goodbye.
